Breathing Therapy Makes u Relax

In about 5 minutes, your headache will go…
Breathing Therapy Makes u Relax
The nose has a left and a right side.
We use both to inhale and exhale.
Actually they are different.
You’ll be able to feel the difference.
The right side represents the sun.
The left side represents the moon.

During a headache, try to close your right nose
and use your left nose to breathe.
In about 5 minutes, your headache will go.

If you feel tired, just reverse, close your left nose
and breathe through your right nose.
After a while, you will feel your mind is refreshed.

Right side belongs to ‘hot’, so it gets heated up easily.
Left side belongs to ‘cold’.

Most females breathe with their left noses,
so they get "cooled off" faster.
Most of the guys breathe with their right noses,
they get worked up.

Breathing Therapy Makes u Relax

Do you notice, the moment you awake, which side breathes better?
Left or right ?
If left is better, you will feel tired.
So, close your left nose and use your right nose for breathing..
You will feel refreshed quickly.

Breathing Therapy Makes u Relax

Do you suffer from continual headaches?
Try out this breathing therapy.

Close your right nose and breathe through your left nose.
Your headaches will be gone.
Continued the exercise for one month.

Why not give it a try…..a natural therapy without medication.

How to take care of artificial jewellery

How to take care of artificial jewellery

Jewel

How to take care of artificial jewellery

Avoid spraying deodorant/perfume on the jewellery while getting ready.

After removing your jewellery, store it in a soft zip up pouch so that dust doesn’t easily get to it. Don’t use tissues to cover them as they might cause scratches.

Do not wear your jewellery while taking a shower.

If you have to clean your jewellery, try and use only warm water. Clean your jewellery with a soft cloth and mild detergent with warm water if required.

Don’t clean any jewellery piece that is broken or damaged since cleaning it might damage it more.

Inspect your jewellery at regular intervals to ensure that it isn’t tarnished.

There’s nothing worse than sitting at work with a horrible backache. Here’s how you can take care

A back pain can make your day worse. Not only does it make you uncomfortable while you sit, but also causes pain when you are lying down or standing. Here are a few ways you can take care of this problem.

Stretching
This form of exercise limbers up tense muscles and strengthens the ones that need help. But before you try any stretches it is advised that you visit a fitness expert or a doctor to know which ones will work for you. Stretching should be done gently. Don’t exert too much pressure on your muscles; they might do more damage than good.

Change the way you sit
Another reason for back pain is often related to the way you sit. More often than not, we do not realise that our posture causes this. If you have a desk job, it is best to take short breaks after every hour. This will help ease your back pain.

Sleep well
Sleeping on your back is the best way to avoid any back problems. If you are already suffering from a back pain, it is always advised to sleep on the floor or a hard surface for a few days before the pain subsides.

Go for a massage
Last but not the least, always go in for a massage when you’ve been experiencing a backache. It helps relieve tense muscles, thereby providing relaxation. A fortnightly massage will ensure that your back pain subsides with time

9 household crises you can solve with salt.jpg

9 household crises you can solve with salt

Turns out a simple dose of salt can solve a whole slew of home disasters, like cracked egg messes and spills. And not only are the fixes incredibly easy, but they’re also usually cheaper than using other fancy cleaning products. Here are a few of our favourite ways to let salt save the day.

Get sticky gunk off your iron
Turn your iron on high, and sprinkle a generous amount of salt onto a piece of wax paper. Move the hot iron over the paper, and watch the salt cause your gunk to fall right off.

Get rid of mildew

To banish mildew stains and smells from clothes or towels, make a paste from salt and lemon juice. Rub the paste on the stain, then let dry (ideally in the sun). Run clothes through the washing machine for good measure.

DIY dishwasher soap
If you find yourself in a pinch, make your own dishwasher detergent from salt, baking soda and regular dish soap. It works like a charm!

Clean a grime-covered sponge
Fill a container with 2 cups of water and a quarter cup of salt. Leave your greasy, blackened sponge in the mixture overnight, then watch the grime fall right off.

Get rid of caked-on pan grease
Cover the greasy residue with a layer of salt, then add some water and wait 10 minutes. The solution will dissolve the grease, allowing you to easily wipe it away.

Clean a grimy wood cutting board
You shouldn’t put wood cutting boards in the dishwasher, but you can disinfect them with hot water, salt and lemon juice.

Clean up a cracked egg
There’s no need for wads of paper towels. Cover the mess with salt, and wait 10 to 15 minutes. The salt will turn the eggy goo into a crumbly sand that’s easy to wipe up.

Clear up a red wine stain
Sprinkle salt on the fresh stain, and wait 5 minutes. Splash with cold water, and rub until the stain disappears.

Clear up a hair clog in the drain
Make a natural drain cleaning mix by mixing 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/4 cup of salt. Remove as much hair from the drain as you can with your (gloved!) hands, and then pour the mixture down the drain. Follow with 1/2 cup of white vinegar, and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse everything down with a pot of boiling water. Voila!

Misconceptions about salt: BUSTED

Experts tell Zeenia F Baria about the common misconceptions associated with salt

How much salt is too much? Are you among those who won’t touch their meals without adding copious amounts of salt? Or do you belong to that category that vehemently refuses to add any salt at all to their diet? Too much salt intake and none at all are both equally harmful. According to Consultant Interventional Cardiologist Dr Vijay Surase, salt is considered by many as an essential part of the human diet. While awareness about the perils of excessive salt intake has increased — with supermarket shelves overflowing with food products, which contain less salt or no salt — the question remains, how important is salt restriction?

"Common salt is composed mainly of sodium and chlorine. Sodium chloride is critical for the maintenance of osmotic balance and other functions. It is true that salt can be dangerous for some people and it is also true that sodium chloride can be obtained from other foods. However, research indicates that approximately 80 per cent of the population will actually benefit from consumption of natural sea salt, which is less refined than common table salt and does not contain added aluminum compounds. Unless you’re told specifically by a qualified specialist about limiting or stopping your salt intake, it should not be done so because it can cause terrible weakness, drowsiness, depression, convulsions, and even coma. Even hypertensive patients need not live with this fear about salt. Normal salt intake is fine but excess salt in your diet (consumption of French fries, pickles, papads, chaat masala etc should be avoided," says Dr Surase.

Interventional Cardiologist Dr Shantanu Deshpande says that salt is essential for maintaining homeostasis in our bodies. "The normal requirement is just 500 mg per day. Most Indian diets, however, exceed that limit. Normally excessive salt intake is excreted in the urine. But in almost 50 per cent of individuals, the kidneys are not able to handle this excess of sodium. Excess of salt in your blood stream retains more water resulting in a rise in blood volumes and blood pressure. It also results in hypertrophy of heart and blood vessel musculature resulting in permanent rise in blood pressure. These effects are more pronounced in the elderly and diabetics. Reducing salt intake in your diet reduces blood pressure. A low salt diet containing less than 5 gm of salt per day is recommended for high blood pressure patients who should avoid items like chutneys, cheese, processed food items and junk food.

Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr Rajiv Bhagwat says that the importance of salt intake in regulation of blood pressure is well established. "Reduction of salt is one of the most important and effective life style modifications to reduce blood pressure. A 2 mm reduction in historic blood pressure reduces stroke mortality by 10 per cent and seven per cent reduction in mortality from coronary diseases. Besides reducing blood pressure, salt reduction also reduces Left Ventricular Sickness (Hyper Trophy), reduces protein loss in urine, reduces osteoporosis and bone mineral loss with age, protects against stomach cancer, asthma and possibly against cataracts as well. Increase your intake of potassium, which is found in plenty in fruits, legumes, nuts and vegetables. Their intake is an effective mean to reduce blood pressure."
