Please remember Akbar’s fourth question:
When He can do everything with His sankalpam or Icchashakthi or power of will, why God has to take incarnations for special purposes?
Birbal wanted to take the help of one of the palace employees to answer this question or illustrate the answer to this question. So he approached the nanny of King’s (two or three year old) daughter and told her that she should hide the baby somewhere during Akbar’s visit to the garden pool in the evening. Also instructed her to throw a life size doll to the pool when Akbar was relaxing near the pool. Birbal said he would explain why she had to do that at a later time. She trusted Birbal and agreed to do as instructed.
On that beautiful evening, Akbar came to the garden and sat near the pool and asked nanny to bring his adorable daughter to see her playing. As instructed by Birbal, nanny brought the doll and threw the doll into the pool, just near where Maharaja was sitting. Akabr was terrified to see nanny throwing his darling daughter into the pool and he was about to jump into the pool to save her. Immediately Birbal caught him and asked the nanny to bring his daughter. Nanny brought his daughter and Birbal told :
” Maharaja, here is your daughter. What fell in the water was only her toy doll. Your daughter is safe.”
As we can imagine, Akbar was furious and asked for an explanation for Birbal’s inappropriate action.
Birabl said: “Maharaja, this is the answer to your fourth question. You have all these attendants standing around the pool to save your daughter if anything happens. You did not request anybody to jump and save her. Instead you tried to jump to save your daughter. You did not even hesitate one moment to save her. What was behind your attempt to save her? Your fathomless love for your daughter. Similarly, even though God can do anything with his will power or make others do or not do, he often takes incarnations to save His devotees from evil forces and evil people. Because of His Bhakthavaathsalyam or limitless love for His devotees, He appears before them, saves them and blesses them to attain eternal happiness. Maharaja, multiply your love for your daughter with infinity and that will equal to God’s love for all of us, His dear children!”
Akbar was very happy to hear Birbals’ answer and congratulated him and gave him lot of precious gifts. Birbal shared all the gifts with everybody in the palace.
