During the phase of depression sometimes we become pessimist and our negative thoughts make it hard to attain back the peaceful state. As we are already depressed due to tough circumstances, these negative thoughts add fuel to fire and steal our peace of mind making it really hard to concentrate even on routine things. So what should be done to fight the depression and negativity? Below are the tips to be considered:

1- Try not to think about problems and rough circumstances again and again; instead focus on the solution. Think what needs to be done to fix the issues.
2- Change your environment. Take a break from your routine life and visit some relative or explore some new city/country.
3- Stay away from negative people. Remember, if someone is negative, he/she is spreading negative germs. Keep yourself germ-free.

4- Read news paper or a good book on daily basis. Article written by Junaid.Tahir
5- Go to market and buy yourself something you like. Feel good about it.
6- Surround yourself amongst happy people. Spend quality time with joyful and colorful friends Article written by Junaid.Tahir
7- Adopt some good hobby and spend time on it. (gardening, blogging, book reading)
8- Visit Orphan house and spend time with children. Help them financially if possible. Give gifts. This act gives real inner happiness.
9- Think about the positive events of your life. About your childhood, education, fun trip, a friend’s wedding etc.
10- Go to Temple/Mosque/church and spend time in prayers to get peace of mind.

Are you a new graduate or you are one of those who laid off recently or want to move to a new company to increase your professional horizon for the sake of growth and better finances? Here are some tips which should help you in finding the new job:

1-     Join Google and Yahoo groups where recent jobs are posted by the hundreds of recruiters.
2-    Make sure your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date. Join job related groups and get connected with hiring companies. LinkedIn has become one of major resource for recruiters to reach relevant professionals. Send private emails to ALL of your contacts and ask them to consider/forward your resume for new job in their company.
3-    Make a list of companies of your domain. For example you can search on google by the words “list of telecom companies in middle east”. Visit their website and apply. I know several people who were contacted within a week of applying online.

4-    Get social. Make new online friends on twitter, Facebook and Digg and Blogger. Try to spread your current jobless status as much as possible. You never know which of your online friend refer you to someone for new job.
5-    Search for the local companies and try to visit them in person. Although this is not an effect way of getting job in most of the metro cities but you never know when your luck knocks your door. Article written by Junaid.Tahir
6-    Join online job forums and HR related website where people like you are sharing new tips and  recommending new companies.
7-    Market yourself as much as you can. Give comments on HR forums, LinkedIn. Run a blog if possible and include your blog address in your resume. As example, visit my blog  paradigmwisdom.blogspot.com
8-    Search for low profile companies. There are several companies which are usually less known to public but providing services to major companies. Sometimes they are referred to as sub-contractors or out sourced companies. Search online with these key words (sub contractors, outsourced, subcons etc)
9-    Contact all of your on-job friends in different companies by phone & email again and again. Keep reminding them to assist you in finding your new job. Article written by Junaid Tahir
10-  do you keep the ‘Visiting cards’ of people you meet? if yes, it’s time to check all those visiting cards and contact those friends/ professionals through email/phone. Article written by Junaid.Tahir
11-   Consider adhoc jobs in local market while you search for your dream job. Use your temporary job to make new contacts.
12-  consider adhoc jobs (online data entry, surveys etc). At least you can earn something while you search for the job in your actual domain.
13-  Get registered with recruiting companies. Google it.
14-  Read news paper daily (online AND printed version both). Classified sections contain new jobs.
15-  Consider working in international market and consider all points mentioned above for each country, whichever applicable

And finally I would ask you to read these tips again and again and keep working till you get what you are looking for. Further, While you are in your job search, I would like to advise:

1-     Don’t get dishearten or depressed. Life is mixture of good and bad timings. With every difficulty, a delightful time always comes. Your depressed approach might result in deficiency in your efforts.
2-    Time to time read optimism articles to keep your pace high. Please read some of my articles on happiness, positivity and optimism at http://paradigmwisdom.blogspot.com/p/articles-by-junaidtahir.html
3-    Adjust your finances by reducing your daily expense. Spend carefully but don’t deprive your family members from their rights J
4-    Keep learning and keep polishing your skills. Refresh your knowledge. Read interview tips. This will be required in your next interview.
5-    Update your resume and include Job Descriptions from your previous job. Google some websites for resume updating tips.

All the best !

The word Cchappan meaning 56 has a special significance in north India.  It was the number of meals (8 a day) that KR^shNa missed while He was holding up the GOvarddhanam for 7 days (8 X 7 =  56). That is the number of offerings that devotees make to Bhagavaan KR^shNa on special occasions.

The list begins with Rasagulla and goes through Curds, Rice, Poori, Pappadam, etc. and ends in Cardamom.  I wonder if there is such a set list in the southern temples.

Shrimati Usha Gupta who has a cooking blog says this much about this north Indian custom:

WHAT IS ‘ CHAPPAN BHOG’ ?
IN EVERY HINDU HOUSE A TEMPLE IS THERE AND DAILY WORSHIP IS DONE. WHEN ‘FOOD’ IS OFFERED TO THE GOD, IT BECOMES ‘PRASAD’. WHEN 56 FIFTY SIX COURSE MEAL IS OFFERED TO THE GOD IT IS CALLED ‘ CHAPPAN BHOG’.  WHEN THE DEVOTEES OFFER BHOG TO
LORD KRISHNA ,AND THE  ITEMS LIKE FRUITS,
kHEER, PEDHA, MILK AND MANY MORE.
IN CHAPPAN BHOG, 56 DIFFERENT ITEMS
ARE OFFERED TO LORD SHREE KRISHNA.
“Prasad” is offered to the deity with chanting
of religious prayers. A part of it is put to the lips
of the idol as well.  This is called “Bhog Lagana”.
Some religious hymn is also sung like
“Aao bhog lagao mere Ramji”.
Small portions of the sanctified Prasad or
Prasadam  are offered to all the gathering
who take it in their extended palms…
As far as I Know the story belongs to Lord Krishna.
He used to take 8 meals a day. when he lifted
Govardhan parbat for 7 days he could not eat.
After 7 days when it was over and lord Indra

How God Balances everything out

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net

Once upon a time in the kingdom of Heaven , God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael the archangel found him, resting on the seventh day.

He inquired of God. “Where have you been?”
God took a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, “Look, Michael. Look what I’ve made!”

Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, “What is it?” “It’s a planet,” replied God, “and I’ve put Life on it. I’m going to call it Earth and it’s going to be a great place of balance.”

“Balance?” inquired Michael, still confused.

God explained, pointing to different parts of earth.

“For example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while southern Europe is going to be poor. Over there I’ve placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people,”

God continued pointing to different countries. “This one will be extremely hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice.”

The Archangel , impressed by God’s work, then pointed to a triangular land mass and said, “What’s that one?” “AAAAH,” said God. “That’s India, the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful beaches, mountains, streams, hills, waterfalls and vineyards. The people from India are going to be very beautiful, handsome, modest, intelligent and humorous and they are going to be found traveling the world holding good jobs….. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking and high-achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace, play cricket and win world test matches. Even their Knowledge and wisdom will be appreciated and exported to far places.”

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then proclaimed, “What about balance, God? You said there would be balance!”

God replied wisely,
“Wait until you see the clowns that will run their government.”

Tips to get a job

56 delicacies for Lord Krishna (chappan Bhog)

After 7 days when it was over and lord Indra
realised his mistake and surrendered.
People were and happy and offered Lord Krishna Bhojan
for what he had missed during the 7 days i.e. 7 x 8=56 .
so it was called 56 items Chappan Bhog.”

10 Places To Make A Wish

You are what you eat -and what you don't eat. Similarly, life depends on what you keep and what you don't keep. There are many things in life that people may keep, but only a few are truly worth keeping. Here is a list of what to keep (and how) for a brighter, happier and more fulfilling life.

1) Keep calm. Life can be unnerving and if you don't make an effort to keep collected and focused, you could easily lose your cool. Take regular, conscious deep breaths to calm and center yourself.

2) Keep your chin up. Not only is it good for your posture and diminishes your double chin, it also helps you maintain an "I can handle it" attitude. By keeping your chin up, you can keep your head above water.

3) Keep your spirits high. Always maintain a positive and joyful attitude. Remember that no one can perk you up like yourself. Keep your spirits high when the going gets rough by focusing on your dreams and counting your blessings.

4) Keep your word. The true measure of a man is if he keeps his word. Honorable and trustworthy is the man who stands by what he says and promises. It is important to think well before speaking because once a word is uttered and released into the universe, its vibrations could no longer be erased.

5) Keep in time with your inner drummer. Don't be swayed by others into following the confusing beat of their drums. Although it is sometimes necessary to adjust to the pace of others, it is best to keep in step with your personal rhythm and to dance to your own music.

6) Keep in touch with the child in youThe source of creativity in your life is that little child within you. He questions, he marvels, he imagines and invents. Stay in touch with him, and be young and creative for life!

7) Keep abreast of the times. The world is moving so fast. Know what's happening, what's in style, what's au courant, what's relevant, what's important. Learn the hottest trends and the latest in technology. Don't be caught in a time warp or you'll be left behind.

8) Keep in shape. Your shape shows your state of health. Your body is the vessel that you journey through life in. Keep it healthy and strong. Don't be one of those people who say, "I'm in shape; round is a shape!"

9) Keep your mouth shut. People talk too much. We language ourselves to our own destruction and defeat. Know when to talk and when to shut up. Avoid being too verbose. Oftentimes, silence speaks more eloquently than words.

10) Keep good friends. Good friends are hard to find. Nurture friendships that make your plight through life easier, more wonderful and meaningful. Truly poor is the man who has no good friends.

11) Keep great memories, not heavy objects. In the very end, good memories of life are what we will be left with, not jewels and riches that we can't bring when we finally go. Live each moment beautifully. Linked together, these magical moments create a magnificent life.

12) Keep a diary. Writing a journal is therapeutic. Record the important events in your life, your dreams and aspirations, even your failures and disappointments. When you trace back events in your life, you are bound to learn lessons from them as well as find great inspiration and strength.

13) Keep saying grace and thanks. Blessed is he who says grace before he eats and gives thanks for all the gifts he receives daily. Maintain a thankful attitude and focus on your blessings instead of disappointments.

14) Keep on moving forward. The universe moves forward in time. Don't get stuck in yesterday; make an effort to move ahead to a better life. Drop those unnecessary pieces of material and emotional baggage that weigh you down and keep you from flying to your loftiest dreams.

15) Keep out of danger. He who exposes himself to danger finds it. Don't court danger; avoid it. As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Look out for number one (that's you!), and always stay safe and sound.

16) Keep up the good work. Success is built upon success. The more you do, the more you achieve; the more you achieve, the better you get at doing it. Make success a habit by keeping up the good work.

17) Keep young. Do everything in your power to stay strong, supple and youthful. Think young; feel young. A wise man once said "It is never too late to be what you might have been." Remember that age is a number and that youth is an attitude.

18) Keep on dancing. Life is a dance through space and time. Embellish whatever music life plays for you with your own fresh orchestration and creative choreography. Be excited in your heart and keep your feet light with happiness.

19) Keep on loving. Love is the reason we were created. Love diminishes when hoarded but multiplies when shared. Give it and feel it overflow in your heart. Love cures all sadness, pain and sorrow. Lonely is he who does not give love away and therefore gets none in return.

20) Keep on dreaming. Most men, even if they are young, are dead - that is, if they can no longer dream. Our dreams are what keep us young and alive; they give us that sparkle in our eyes. Our dreams keep us going even while everything around us says, "Stop."

21) Keep on hoping. Never lose hope. Tomorrow will be another day that will bring new hope and greater blessings. Keep faith in the abundance of the universe and the mystery and perfection of life. Hope for nothing but the best and that's what you will be granted.

22) Keep on believing. Belief is the mother of reality. What you believe becomes your truth. Believe in yourself, believe in the magic of the universe, believe in the power of your dreams. And most of all, believe you can do it, so you can have all your heart's desires!

These You Must Not Keep
1)
Don't keep up with the Joneses. Just because your neighbor bought a red Ferrari, you, too, must get one. Don't join the bandwagon and keep away from the "herd mentality." Too much unhappiness in this world is caused by comparisons - comparing yourself and trying to measure up to other people. There is really no need to live up to others' expectations if it would just bring you inconvenience and misery.

2) Don't keep issues and grudges. The reason most of us stay miserable is because we keep issues, grudges, and problems. Detox yourself of complaints and issues that keep you from being the best that you could be. Try to solve all problems that beset you; never leave anything unresolved. The questions and puzzles of life are what make it challenging and exciting.

3) Don't keep resentments and memories of painful experiences. Life is not a bed of roses so you must learn to let go of negative feelings and memories of painful experiences. It's hard to go on living with a heavy heart. Pardon, forgive, forget if you can, and move on.

How to make your life beautiful
