Junior coordinator:
The first step in long journey of 21 years of the Golden career of GTFS Where one decides how his future would be. As he/she is his/her own boss they can set their own targets according to their own capacities and capabilities. Smaller the target smaller the achievement in the long run.
Minimum target is like pass mark for qualifying each stage of your career and successful persons always aim high and set higher targets for themselves to outshine others.
Minimum Targets are
Rs 30,000 collection in life policies.
Rs 15 000 in Non-life policies.
You set your own target.
GTFS encourages its Jr. Coordinators to set high Targets for themselves and announces rewards and prizes for achievers from time to time.
This stage being the first stage of your career and only place where you could decide how much income in future will be.
As selling Insurance (Life, Non-life), Mutual funds, Medi-claim, etc products are done only at this stage. Higher the sale of product higher would be your returns in the form of commission, salary, rewards, gifts, etc.
We suggest that each Jr. Coordinator sets a minimum Target of Rs 2.5 lakh in six months so that when he is promoted to next stage( as Coordinator) he/she gets Rs 2500 per month as Conveyance/salary( @1% of collection) in addition to commission on the policies sold by him/her laying a strong foundation for his career.
The career span at GTFS is for 21 years with 42 stages with promotions every six months to next level on completion/achievement of minimum target level.(Please refer the Career chart supplied along with your kit).
Your career is broadly divided into three phases initially
Collection –collection of premiums by selling the policies as Jr Coordinator
Selection– by selection of suitable persons with zeal and enthusiasm to work as Jr. Coordinators in your team when you are promoted as Coordinator.
Coordination– when you are promoted as Coordinator- I, help your team to set their targets and achieve them by coordinating with them at each stage organising meetings, training sessions, etc with the help of seniors. At C-I you act as a bridge between your team and Seniors.
These initial three stages are called the production stage where all the business of your team is generated and this stage is the foundation of your multi-storey structure of your Golden career.

Selection– by selection of suitable persons with zeal and enthusiasm to work as Jr. Coordinators in your team when you are promoted as Coordinator.
Coordination– when you are promoted as Coordinator- I, help your team to set their targets and achieve them by coordinating with them at each stage organising meetings, training sessions, etc with the help of seniors. At C-I you act as a bridge between your team and Seniors.
These initial three stages are called the production stage where all the business of your team is generated and this stage is the foundation of your multi-storey structure of your Golden career.

  • People – to promote and sell the product ( insurance and other products of the company)
This contact programme should continue during entire career to improve the knowledge and get latest information, developments that are taking place around us, building a large team of his/her own network for achieving highest targets.


Tips to make yourselves successful in you career/ in your life.
·        Always be courteous to others. Always respect elders and pay respect to seniors and respectful persons.
·        Always speak in gentle and soft manner that would make others to listen to your points.
·        Prepare yourself well before making any presentation, explaining plans and policies to anyone.
·        Knowledge about the Company, Product, and plans should be your first aim so acquire the same from your seniors, Branches of the Company and other sources.
·        Never be over confident because overconfidence always leads to mistakes and failure.
·        Never get disheartened when you are not successful on the first or second attempt, treat them as rehearsals before the big achievement. Perseverance always pays and you would become the most successful person if you do not give up easily.
·        Keep meeting your clients and team members regularly and try to solve their problems.

·        Weekly Meeting with Juniors and Fortnightly with Seniors

·        Self Assessment of one’s own potential and doing similar assessment for members of your own team.
·        Encouraging your team members to prepare a list of acquaintances, friends, relatives and introduction of career options with GTFS
·        Inculcate self-confidence amongst all team members.
·        Maintain cleanliness and present best personality before customers and others.
·        Conduct regular sessions for development of personality of your team.
·        Encourage Team members to make mock presentations about the Career, Company, Insurance Policies and other products, etc so that they can be successful team leaders.
·        Calculate your time and resources and distribute the same optimally to make the maximum. Time and resource management is very essential for success in any field.

How to achieve your target easily?
All the business partners in GTFS or any organisations have this common worry that how they are going to achieve their targets set by the Company/Organisation. Simply worrying about something is not going to solve the problem. We have to Assess, Plan and execute the same in a proper systematic manner and device a methodology to achieve our goals and target.
For example, the target set for Jr Coordinator is Rs 30,000 collection as premium for life Insurance policy and ` 15000 for Non life or general insurance, mutual funds, Medi-claim policies.
Split the target into No. of days available i.e. 6 months 182 days. Formula T (target) divided by N (number of days) = target per day
30000/180 = 165.84 or `166 per day or Rs 5000 per month.
There are policies for small investors like Jeevan Saral of LIC of India which start with a minimum premium of Rs 3002 with Sum Assured value of Rs 62500, if you do just two policies per month you can achieve your target easily in five months one month before the due date. Now you may think that you can do more so set your target around Rs 1.00 lakh then your monthly average collection would be 100000/6 months the average would be 16666.66 so you need to plan for collection of combination of small and big premium policies like Jeevan Anand of LIC, Saral Anand of Future Generali, Cash Flow of Reliance where the average premium for Rs 2 Lakh would be Rs 17,000 to 19000 depending upon the age of person to be insured. By selling just one policy a month, you can achieve your target of Rs 1.00 lakh. Everything seems so simple, isn’t it?
You can apply the same principle to Non Life policies.
The Personal Accident policy premium rates are
For 1 lakh Rs 216, for 2 lakh Rs 381 and for Rs 3 lakh Rs 547 per year which is valid for a period of 1 year from the date of policy. You get 100 % credit on the premium collected. So you sell 30 Policies of Rs 547 or combination of all the three to achieve your minimum target of Rs 15 000.  So, on an average you have to sell 5 policies per month. i.e. 1.25 policies per week. If you determine that you can sell at least 5 policies per week you sell 20 policies per month and around 120 policies in six months. Achieving Rs 65640 as your collection in six months. As these policies have to be renewed every year you assure that two of your down line get promoted every year with renewal of the same policies.

Mutual Fund:
You can also sell Systematic investment plan (SIP) of Rs 500 per month  to Rs 5000 per month of Reliance Mutual Fund ( it involves one time Service Tax payment of Rs 900 for Rs 500 SIP and Rs 1800 for Rs 1000 SIP. The service Tax is collected only once in total for whole term of 5 or ten years. Your first month collection of SIP+ Service Tax is counted for your promotion quota and you qualify with minimum of 3x Rs 1000 SIP or 6X500 SIP. You may sell 6 policies to be eligible for bonus and rewards.
Medical Claims.: These policies get you credit of only 50% of your total collection . So you need to sell minimum of Rs 15000 under Medi-claim to qualify your promotion quota. This cashless mediclaim is available only for people ( primary ) 18 to 45 years dependents from 5 to 45 years. Renewals can go upto 65 years. The benefit over other Mediclaims available in the market is 1.5% of the sum assured can be availed for Room rent and other facilities. compared to 1% with other insurance Companies. You can sell the individual mediclaim available under Reliance Group Mediclaim policy for clients upto the age of 75. For details please contact GTFS branch manager.
Many attractive policies are available under Bajaj Allianz, Max New York Life and Future Generali insurance. You may read the brochures of respective Companies, which can be obtained from the branch or from your seniors. Please make it a point to attend all training sessions at branch and sessions conducted by your seniors so as to attain thorough knowledge of all the products available in your basket for sale. This would also help you to plan your target and convince your client easily.
Always refer to the age of the proposer of Insurance and the premium to be paid+ service Tax if any and inform your client. Do not commit anything, which you do not know or make any false promises. Get the things fully clarified from your seniors and the local branch before selling any of the above-mentioned policies as rates may change from time to time and conditions are subject to changes. Read the requirements for ach type of policy so that you can collect these documents while filling up the proposal form. This will save you from unnecessary hassles and harassment contacting the client repeatedly for every requirement.
Your determination is the key if you believe in yourself you can reach the stars, nothing will ever be impossible for you.
Selling is an Art. You can master it by acquiring knowledge about the product and practising your selling techniques. Rehearse the situation many times imagining the discussion with your client and yourself answering to his/her queries about the policy and finally signing the form for the desired amount. All successful people all over the world have practiced this. Never get disheartened when you are not able to get the policy, you may succeed next time. You analyse the scene with your client again and you will be able to rectify your mistakes next time.
You should always aim to achieve the phase prize of your rank and never hesitate to take the help of your seniors to achieve your goal. You be the leading light to motivate your juniors by setting an example yourself.
A good sales person never disheartened by a negative answer, as he believes he has the strength to change every NO into Yes by his convincing power. There is 50% yes in every person you have to convert the same to 100% to be successful in your career.

The Kompletely Finished Airlines (KFA) was on the brink. Its pilots were on strike and staff had not been paid salaries for six months. Banks, which had lent huge sums of money, were closing in. But there was one reason why KF Airlines still drew passengers; it was hijackproof. And this is how it earned its reputation. 
It happened some months back.
 
Two of the three hijackers on KFA Flight 420, who had dozed off to sleep, wake up and spring out of their seats brandishing things tha tlooked like sharp weapons. One of them takes hold of the stewardessand yells for all the passengers to hear, “Don’t move. This is a hijack. We are taking this plane to Karachi.”
 
“Wait a minute,” says a passenger who looks like a banker“you can’t take this plane. My bank has already seized it to recover dues ownedby the company. This plane is going to Mumbai to be auctioned.”
 
“Just hold on,” says the hijacker, “let me check my tickets. We could be on the wrong flight.” After checking his tickets he says, “We are on the correct flight. To hell with your bank.”
 
One of the hijackers moves towards the cockpit taking the stewardess along while the second one stands guard in the isle. Meanwhile the third hijacker takes his place at the rear. The cockpit door is jerked open and the hijacker rushes in and shuts it. “There is no need to panic. Stay calm. This is a hijack. If you do as you are told your life will be spared.”  Seeing the surprised look on the pilot’s face, the hijacker asked,“Who are you?”
 
“I am the steward, not the pilot,” said the uniformed person in the pilot’s seat. “The pilots are on strike because they haven’t been paid salaries for the last three months.”
 
“Then, who is flying this plane?” asked the hijacker, a little nervous now.“Nobody is,” said the steward, “we haven’t even taken off.”
 
The turn of events shocks the hijacker, but he quickly recovers. “I must have dozed off.  Can you fly this plane?” he asks the steward.“But I don’t have a licence,” says the steward.
 
“What if I hold a box cutter to your head?” the hijacker threatens.“Then maybe,” says the steward,“but there still is one problem. We don’t have fuel.” 
 
“What?” the hijacker asks.
 
“The oil companies won’t give us fuel because we still owe them a lotof money,” the steward blurts out.
 
The hijacker thinks for a while and then pulls out his satellite phone and makes a call to Karachi. “Karachi, we have a problem. Can you wire some 10,000 dollars to the KFA account to buy some aviation fuel?” Karachi agrees, but the money has to be routed through a series ofoffshore accounts to hide the source and this takes some time. Meanwhile the hijacker yells for the stewardess. “Bring me some coffee.”
 
“Sorry sir,” says the stewardess, “but the company cut coffee,biscuits and toffees from the menu to pay the mortgage on the boss’s luxury yacht.”
 
After what seems like an hour a fuel tanker drives to the plane andunloads its contents.
“Can we take off now?” the hijacker asks.
 
“I don’t think we can take off, because this plane has only one engine,” says the steward.
 
What happened to the other one?” asks the hijacker.
 
“It is being used to power the boss’s Formula 1 car.”
 
The hijacker is stunned. He then gets angry that the hijack has gone horribly wrong and yells. “I want to talk to your boss.”
 
The frightened steward calls up the boss and gives the phone to the hijacker who listens for a whileand then hands it back. “What did he say?” the steward asks.
 
“Nothing. The mobile company said his SIM card was deactivated because bills were not paid for the last six months,” says the hijacker and walks out to surrender.

Brahadaranyaka Upanisad 5.14.4 (Gayatri as the Protector)
The Gayatri Mantra is based on truth. For truth is based on strength. Strength is breath, and is based on breath. So, Gayatri protects (tra) the wealth (gaya) (the breath!) of those who speak it with earnestness and devotion. When one recites Gayatri on behalf of someone, it protects that person’s breath too!

Brahadaranyaka Upanisad 5.14.5 (Four ‘foots’ of the Gayatri)

This verse talks about the unbounded wealth contained within the four ‘foots’ of the Gayatri Mantra.

  • The first foot (aum bhur bhuvah svaha) is said to be equivalent to the wealth contained in the three worlds put together.
  • The second foot (tat savitur varenyam) is said to be equivalent to the wealth contained in the three main vedas.
  • If one were to receive a gift extending as far as there are living beings, that would equal the third foot (bhargo devasaya dheemahi).
  • The fourth foot (dheeyo yo nah prachodyaat) is based on the glory of the sun, whose power and wealth remains unequaled and unrivaled. Hence, there is no amount of wealth that can equal the fourth foot of the Gayatri!

Gayatri Mantra – Long Form and Praanayama

The complete form (or long form) of the Gayatri Mantra contains an invocation to the seven spheres, followed by the traditional 24-syllable mantra that is most commonly chanted (Details of each syllable can be found in the Gayatri by Words article). The final part of the mantra is an invocation to the Goddess of light to illuminate our path as we move towards higher consciousness.

We pay homage to Gayatri, the one who shines like the sun (tat savitur), the one who destroys all our sins through her everlasting and effulgent light. Dear Goddess Gayatri, please illuminate our path towards our higher consciousness and lead us to our true purpose in life. Please shine your light (-jyotiH) in our path so we may partake of the everlasting nectar (rasomRRitaM) of brahman while chanting the primordial sound, AUM!

Gayatri Mantra – Mantra or Prayer?

The Gayatri Mantra occupies a unique place in that it has both the power of mantra and of prarthana (prayer). It is important then in considering the Gayatri Mantra to distinguish the difference between these two deceptively similar words.
A mantra may be articulate or inarticulate, or a combination of them, as with AUM. It has an inherent power, known as “Mantra shakti”, which has a positive influence not due to any philosophical meaning behind the mantra, but simply due to its utterance alone.
A prayer on the other hand does have a philosophical meaning behind it, and it is generally through this meaning that the prayer or prarthana has its power. Since this meaning can be easily understood, the method of prarthana is generally the form of worship used by most people.
The Gayatri, or Guru Mantrapossesses both the power of mantra and the power of prarthana, and thus has both an intrinsic power (ie “mantra shakti”), through its mere utterance alone, and also an instrumental power (ie “prarthana shakti”), which is derived from the understanding of its meaning and philosophical significance. Hence, the repeated and correct chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, with proper understanding of its meaning, is believed to be of the greatest good to the individual.

          Word for Word meaning :

The Gayatri Mantra consists of twenty-four syllables – three lines of eight syllables each. The first line (Aum Bhur Bhuvah Swah) is considered an invocation, and is not technically a part of the original Gayatri Mantra as it appears in the Upanishads. Gayatri is also referred to as a Vedic poetic meter of 24 syllables or any hymn composed in this meter. Hence, there exists a whole family of Gayatri Mantras, which serve as meditative aids to pray for the blessings of a particular personal God.

ॐ भूर्भुव: स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं । भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि, धीयो यो न: प्रचोदयात् ।।

A basic translation can be given as…
Oh God, the Protector, the basis of all life, Who is self-existent, Who is free from all pains and Whose contact frees the soul from all troubles, Who pervades the Universe and sustains all, the Creator and Energizer of the whole Universe, the Giver of happiness, Who is worthy of acceptance, the most excellent, Who is Pure and the Purifier of all, let us embrace that very God, so that He may direct our mental faculties in the right direction.

The Four Parts of the Gayatri Mantra

Aum Bhur Bhuvah Swah (ॐ भूर्भुव: स्व:)

BHUR BHUVAH SWAH. These three words collectively are known as the “Mahavyahriti”. They express the nature of God, and demonstrate his inherent qualities.

2. BHUR (भूर्)
Firstly, the word Bhur implies existence. God is self-existent and independent of all. He is eternal and unchanging. Without beginning and without end, God exists as a continuous, permanent, constant entity. Secondly, the word Bhur can also mean the Earth, on which we are born and sustained. God is the provider of all, and it is through His divine will that we our blessed with all that we require to maintain us through our lives. Finally, Bhur signifies Prana, or life (literally, breath). God is That which gives life to all. Whilst He is independent of all, all are dependent on Him. It is God who has given us life, God who maintains us throughout our lives, and God alone who has the ability to take away our life, when He so chooses. The only permanent entity, all others are subject to His own will

3. BHUVAH (भुव:)
Bhuvah describes the absolute Consciousness of God. God is self-Conscious as well as being Conscious of all else, and thus is able to control and govern the Universe. Also, the word Bhuvah relates to God’s relationship with the celestial world. It denotes God’s greatness – greater than the sky and space, He is boundless and unlimited. Finally, Bhuvah is also indicative of God’s role as the remover of all pain and sufferings (Apaana). We see pain and sorrow all around us. However, through supplication to God, we can be freed from that pain and hardship. God Himself is devoid of any pain. Though He is Conscious of all, and is thus aware of pain, it does not affect Him. It is our own ignorance that makes us susceptible to the effects of Maya, or illusion, which causes us to feel pain. Through true devotion to God, we can be freed from the clutches of Maya, and thus be rid of pain and sorrow.

4. SWAH (स्व:)
Swah indicates the all-pervading nature of God. He is omnipresent and pervades the entire multi-formed Universe. Without Form Himself, He is able to manifest Himself through the medium of the physical world, and is thus present in each and every physical entity. In this way, God is able to interact with the Universe created by Him, and thus sustain and control it, ensuring its smooth and proper running and function.

Also, Swah symbolizes God’s bliss. All but God experience pain, suffering and sorrow. Devoid of all such things, God alone is able to experience supreme bliss. Happiness as experienced by humans is temporary, a transient state of mental satisfaction, which soon dissolves back into the mire of worldly troubles. Perfect, and without any form of deficiency, God alone experiences true bliss, permanent and unaffected by worldly pains and woes. One who realizes God is able to join in this bliss, and thus God is able to impart true happiness to those who establish oneness with that Supreme Divinity.

The Mahavyahriti can be summed up by comparison to the word AUM itself, and through this comparison to the tripartite structure, can be compared to the essential nature of God, which differentiates Him from the other two entities recognized in that structure (namely, matter and soul), in the same way as the comparison between the three parts of the word Satchidananda, another name also used to describe God…

  • BHUR Prana Earth Sat Existence
  • BHUVAH Apana Sky Chit Consciousness
  • SWAH Vyana Heaven Ananda Bliss

TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM (तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं)

5. TAT (तत् s.1)

Literally, this word means “that”, being used in Sanskrit to denote the third person. It is also mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita by Sri Krishna Himself, where He implies the selfless nature of the word. Being used in the third person, the word has implicit in it an idea of selflessness. Sri Krishna uses it to imply the selfless nature of charity (charity, or a gift, being used as an analogy for worship, in the form of action, implying that action should be preformed without regard to its fruits, but simply out of devotion and 

sense of duty, or Dharma). Tat then is used here in the Gayatri Mantra to indicate that the worshipper is referring to [that] God, and that the praise being offered to God in the prayer is purely directed towards Him, without thought of gaining any personal benefit from that praise.

6. SA-VI-TUR (सवितुर् s.2-4)
Savita, from which Savitur is derived, is another name of God, this being the reason that the Gayatri Mantra is often known as the Savitri Mantra. The implication of Savita is of God’s status as the fountain, the source of all things. It is through His Divine Grace that the Universe exists, and so this word sums up the Mahavyahriti, by describing God’s ability to create the Universe and sustain it, as well as, at the right time, bring about its dissolution.

Savita is also indicative of God’s gift to mankind. Humans also have, in limited amount, the power, or shakti, of Savita. This shakti acts as an impetus in humans, and brings about the requirement for them to do something. They cannot sit idle, and are constantly searching for something to do. This is what is commonly known as the “creative urge”. It is through this shakti that mankind has created art, and it is through this shakti also that scientific advances are made. The gift of Savita also gives creatures the ability of procreation. Hence, Savita can be thought of as meaning Father (or Mother) also.
Finally, it is the power of Savita that enables mankind to distinguish right from wrong, and vice from virtue. Through this ability, we are able to in some part direct our own selves, and thus, Savita imparts to us a certain self-guiding ability. Thus, by using this word in the mantra, we demonstrate that we are making efforts ourselves also, since God will not help us unless we are willing to help ourselves.

7. VA-RE-NY-AM (वरेण्यं s.5-8)
Varenyam signifies our acceptance of God, and can be translated as meaning “Who is worthy”. Ever ready to obtain all the material riches of the world, more often than not, they are a disappointment once they have been achieved. God however is the one who, once realized and achieved, has the ability to truly satisfy. We therefore accept Him as the Highest reality, and it is to Him that we dedicate our efforts.

Varenyam can also be interpreted as signifying one who is eligible. We have chosen Him to be our Leader and our Guide. We place our all into His hands, and accept Him regardless of anything else. We place no conditions on this acceptance, as it is all out of sheer devotion.

BHARGO DEVASYA DHIMAHI (भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि)

This triplet is a further description of the attributes and qualities of God – His functional and instrumental qualities, rather than intrinsic qualities – and through those qualities, His relationship to us.

8. BHAR-GO (भर्गो s.1,2)
Bhargo is taken to signify the Glorious Light that is God’s love and power. It indicates His complete purity – being absolutely pure Himself, God also has the ability to purify those that come into contact with Him. Thus, Bhargo is indicative of God’s power to purify, and to destroy all sins and afflictions. In the same way as a metal ore placed into a fire will yield the pure metal, by merging with God, by realizing His Divine Form and establishing unity and oneness with Him, we can cleanse ourselves and be made pure by His Grace.

Though the soul, being itself Divine in nature, possesses that Light, it lacks luster, having been made impure by the sins and vices, which are a result of the darkness of Maya. By removing the veil of Maya, and cleansing our soul, God can enable the soul to realize its true, Divine self, and thus purify it.

9. DE-VAS-YA (देवस्य s.3-5)
The word Deva, from which this word is derived, has been translated by different people in many different ways. It is generally thought of as meaning simply “God”. However, its meaning is more complex than that.

Deva, which forms the root of the words “Devata” and “Devi”, means “quality” or “attribute”, and can be thought of as another word for “Guna”. Thus, the various forms of God are given this name, as each of those forms is related to a specific quality and function (for example, Brahma has the quality of Creation, Kamadeva has the quality of love, etc.). Also, Deva is thus used to describe anyone who is considered to possess a special quality.
Since Deva is symbolic of the individual qualities of God, the word demonstrates the inherent oneness of those different Forms, and thus the use of this word can be taken as describing the fundamental unity of God. Thus we see that here, we reaffirm that central belief in the Hindu Dharma that “Ekam sat viprah bahudah vadanti” (Truth, or God, is one, but wise men call Him/It by different names).
Thus, Deva is indicative of the various multifaceted entity that is the absolute Personality of God. It describes in one word all the functions, roles and different attributes of God, and symbolizes therefore his absolutely essential nature – without God, nothing can exist.

10. DHI-MA-HI (धीमहि s.6-8)
Meaning to meditate and focus our mind on God. Meditation on God implies that we remove all other thoughts from our mind, since thoughts of the world render our mind impure, and thus we are unable to conceptualize the absolute purity of God. We must be able to concentrate, and direct our mental energies towards the task in hand – which is communion with God.


DHIYO YO NAH PRACHODAYAT (धीयो यो न: प्रचोदयात्)

Prayer is carried out for four main reasons:
  • to praise and glorify God;
  • to thank God;
  • to ask forgiveness from God;
  • or to make a request from God.
Having carried out the other three parts (praise of His greatness, thanks for His generosity in Creation and maintaining us through our lives, and forgiveness by demonstrating our awareness of our own impurity, which we have realized is present and must be cleansed through contact with God), this part is now our request from God. Since our soul is the Light of Life within us, and that acts on our body via the medium of the brain, we ask God to make this contact pure and righteous. The soul is of course inherently pure, being itself Divine in nature. The body is under the complete control of the mind. The link is the mind, which is affected not only by the soul, but also the outside world. We ask in these four words that God help us to improve our intellect, and guide it towards what is right.

11. DHI-YO (धीयो s.1,2)
Sanskrit for “intellect”, this is the essence of this part of the Gayatri Mantra. Having firmly set God in our hearts, we now must try to emphasize His presence and influence on our mind and intellect.

Material prosperity holds no true meaning for the person who is truly devoted to God. Pain and suffering are of no consequence to him as, touched by God, he is imbued with God’s own Divine Bliss, and all worldly sorrows pale to nothingness in comparison. However, still the individual must live in the world. Thus, it is important that the person’s intellect remains focussed on serving God, and that it is able, through the medium of the body, to serve God to the best of its ability.
Physical objects can be obtained very easily, if one is intelligent enough to know how to go about it. Intellect however cannot be obtained, but must be there from the very first. It is by use of this intellect, in fact, that one is able to cultivate all other qualities (building of wealth, “success” in life (in material terms), physical fitness, etc.) Thus, intellect is the key to all else in life, and as such, it is the most important possession. We ask God in the Gayatri Mantra to gift us with the highest intellect, and to help us by showing us the way to use that intellect.

12. YO (यो s.3)
Meaning “Who” or “That”, Yo signifies yet again that it is not to anyone else that we direct these prayers, but to God alone. Only God is worthy of the highest adoration, only God is perfect and free from all defects. It is That God to Whom we offer these prayers.

13. NAH (न: s.4)
Nah means “Ours”, and signifies the se
